a bit of a result
the items:
1. a dead bird deposited under our bed this morning
2. a late morning power cut, server UPSen screaming; cause: cat peeing on a 4-way block downstairs
3. a VAT inspection for our company, punctuated by another dead bird being presented to the VAT inspector
and it's only 13.46 as I write this: the day is young...
