pepper
We haven't seen a lot of Pepper recently; she really doesn't take well to the arrival of new kittens - took her a long time to even start to accept PoD and she still tends to go into full fishwife mode when she's with him and its not cold and/or wet outside (amazing how conflicts get set aside when the weather is foul :). The Ning have been here since December, but Pepper really doesn't like them being here. It being summer, she just spends most of her time out - marauding with Mustrum a lot of the time, I think, judging by the way they tend to turn up together.
Actually, Lilith isn't so much of a problem (at least in this context ;), it's Littllest Ning. There's a deep and terrible rivalry for who is the Prettiest and Most Charming Kitten in the World. Pepper is this, of course, but Liessa is terrifyingly charmning too, and turns up whenever Pepper comes in and, well, perpetrates charm in a particularly pointed way.
Pepper turned up in the study window about half an hour ago and (eventually) came in. Surprise: Lietha immediately turned up too, up the stairs. I turned her out and took her downstairs several times to little avail; she just came straight back. Meanwhile, Pepper fishwifed. In an utterly charming way, of course. It's taken this half an hour to calm her down: talking to her, stroking her, letting her sniff and rub her cheek glands against me. But she's now lying, almost quiet on the little box of drawers on top of the shelves in here and looks like she'll even go to sleep.
It's actually been hard work: Counselling for Cats :)
