30 years, man and boy

I remember listing to Peelie as a teenager under the cover so as not to set my dad off on one of his rants.

I've listened to him most of my life, half of his; I started listening to a goodly proportion of the music I still love thanks to him. He, almost single-handedly, did more for music and musicians than anyone else in the 20th century: not hyperbole, or exaggeration, just historical truth documented by music of every kind. Bands from Little Feat to the Ramones to Henry Cow, generations of bands. One of the wisest and best people I've ever known of, and he's gone.

Heart attack.

Peru.

Gone.
