Graaaaaaaaaarghhhh!!!!

Bloody Apple.

Can't install Panther on the (old) upstairs iMac because it needs its firmware updating.

Can only update the firmware from an OS 9 boot from the local hard disk, not CD or Classic[sic] under OS X.

We have no steenkin' OS 9 partitions here, I'm not even sure we have an OS 9 CD here. And I do not want to have to reformat, install OS 9, reformat, install 10.3 and finally restore from backup.

Feck.

I can probably dig out an OS9 CD to copy if needs be?

Thanks, but we've probably got one here somewhere - the old iMac came with OS 9 after all; we should have its original CDs around.
