VMware got into a nasty embrace with X here; I killed it without engaging brain (and backing up virtual disks) and it's eaten the boot drive of the only Windows VM I actually use for anything bar IE/Win compatibility testing.
Feck.
All data is on the network and essential registry bits backed up, but it's a PITA having to reconstruct stuff.
Still, new GIP :)
I had to do something whilst backing up 6GB over the LAN to the firewire backup drive.
