Far better than 2, but inevitably lacked the freshness of 1. Long, but not IMO too long, it felt a much more cohesive (and darker) whole than the messy, disjointed slapstick of 2. Knightley and Bloom still irritating, Keith Richards only just being Keith Richards as only he can, messrs. Depp, Harris, Rush and Nighy being very fine indeed. Oh, and featuring the East India Company playing its vile and monstrous self and finally getting what it fucking deserved, at least in symbolic microcosm.
Worth trekking to the cinema? Yes, but I wouldn’t bother waiting for the end cookie. The crabs were good though.
Cup of tea and bed now, I think. I’ll not sleep though, after total sugar overload from all the banged grains I consumed; hopefully the glass of rye I’ve just finished will help.
