Back home again after my last day contracting at Motorola. Again.

Last time I left it was due to one [livejournal.com profile] pdcawley tempting me to Virgin Mobile (or v.omit as it became affectionately known); this time I leave due to a clash of greed between two sets of pimps.

Whatever. We have more than enough work at Horus to keep me busy for a bit, and if things continue to work the way they have been and the way we hope, I may never need to encube myself again.

Which would be nice.

Having said that, I would still be unsurprised if I found myself back at SDLC in Motorola yet again one day... At least I leave the code in good hands this time.

welcome home!

I hope you've been addresssing the auto-address facility on their registration website. I tried to register two phones for the kids to get the free airtime but, because this house is a new-build, when you put in your postcode it shows you a list of exiting numbers but not the new. Then when you try to abandon the operation, it kindly decides to assign you a spurious house number anyway. Then despite numerous calls to the inchbrow-zoids, the system refuses to allow a manula change. Net result, I can't get auto-swipe cards sent to my address. Instaed they go half a mile up the road to where a shaven-headed, Doberman owner whittles away human bones for a hobby. I'm not minded to go and ask for misdirected mail. Virgin Mobile ? Virgin Cunts more like.

Hey! It's not my fuckin' fault, right?

I was there from March 2000 for 9 months which, whilst good enough for a cow or a Countess, wasn't quite sufficient for me to gestate a total transformation of their back end CRM (hah!) systems.

Most of my time was taken up arguing with the lovies in marketing about page design "ideas" that couldn't even be implemented for one browser, let alone across platforms. And as for the inchbrow-zoids; have you ever been to Trowbridge?

Riget enough. It's your fault then. Trowbridge ? I have read about it.
