Many thanks to everyone who's posted sympathies and thoughts for our losing Bada, here, on
ramtops' LJ, on the the cats' blog, on my Facebook, on IRC, and in real life.
I'm not having what you could call the happiest of birthdays today, but you've all helped as much as any help other than the passing of time can do. Life (and its inevitable end) will continue, but can we please not lose any more of our tribe quite yet, please?

Date: 2008-10-09 08:36 am (UTC)Someone told me I was being "sentimental" about this, and honestly... what can I say? This animal has been part of the family, and a source of group entertainment and affection. Of course we miss someone who was part of the family when they go! And the fact that they aren't "normally human" really doesn't make it any easier... I'm having to come to terms with the imminent loss of a young great-niece, whose wide-spectrum problems have finally (at the age of 6!) been diagnosed as a combination of epilepsy and autism, both in extreme forms. Her prognosis is (people have said "thankfully" and I can see why) very poor, and if she reaches ten years old, it will be something of a miracle. But my goodness! she's going to be missed!
