It Came From Outer Space
Nov. 12th, 2004 11:06 pmWell, that was a thing.
Just back from seeing It came from outer space at Colsnall, complete with 3D glasses and a live Pere Ubu soundtrack. Too Bloody Loud in occasional parts (and a grotty mix to boot), but huge fun and definitely one of those synergy lads in their combinations. It seems that their drummer tonight was Chris Cutler, who I last saw in (I think) 1977 with Henry Cow; damned fine percussionist he was and is too.
Support was a young Brissle lad, calling himself Kid Carpet; might even have a future in the Muzic Biz once the backs of his ears dry out if he keeps his hands out of his pockets and learns to respect his elders and betters. Some boffo samples and rhythms in there amongst the silliness and jumping around.
A good night, I feel.
