Stop ID Cards
The Home Office Consultation on ID cards closes this Tuesday, July 20.
This has been carried out with very little publicity.
This is your only chance to add your voice to the opposition to ID cards.
Once the Draft Bill becomes law, voluntary ID cards will become compulsory at the whim of the Government.
The Home Office will not count multiple responses which all say the same thing, so please write or e-mail your own response. you may recall the last ID cards consultation where the government spent months trying to
brush over 5000 responses sent through the stand.org.uk portal under the carpet.
You might want to consider including SOME of the following points:
* An ID scheme won't stop terrorists -- visitors here for under three months won't need ID cards, this would be easy for terrorists to exploit
* An ID scheme will not control illegal immigration or illegal working
* An ID scheme won't entitle you to anything you do not already have
* An ID scheme will cost billions in taxpayers' money and achieve very little in return
* An ID scheme will mean your most intimate details will be
controlled by the government forever, with access granted to all kinds of public servants, from Whitehall to your GP's office
* An ID scheme threatens your privacy and civil liberties
If you want to find out more look on the NO2ID website:
